Where can you get Christmas trees in the area?

A few folks have asked me where to get Christmas trees in the neighborhood, and I don't rightly know.

So I'm asking you, the readers: where did you get yours, and where can you buy them in the area?

I know they have artificial trees at Target and real wreaths at Giant, but that's all I know.

Please post your suggestions in the comments!

  1. We got our tree at the lot at the Historic Society (801 K St) - they deliver. I also know that Garden District has trees, as does Old City Green, down by the Convention Center, at 9th and N.

  2. Garden District on 14th and S is a great place for trees of all sizes.

  3. Licking Creek Bend Farm was selling them at the Adam's Morgan farmer's market which I believe goes on for one or two more weeks. (Saturdays until 1:00) A flyer I got from them makes it sound like you might need to email them in advance if you want them to bring you a tree (esiegel2@igc.org). Also says they they are sustainably grown and run $35 - $95. If you stop by, make sure to get some goldrush apples. They are awesome.

  4. You can order them online at Target.com (real, not fake!), and they are shipped for free... They also have some smaller full-size trees and some mini trees at Whole Foods on P Street.

  5. 14th and S, definitely, really cute tree lot, way more spirited than an online order form ;)
But if simplicity's your bag delivery sounds pretty neat.

  6. Garden District even has little bitty trees for those of us in small city dwellings. One of the farmers at the Adams Morgan farmers market is also selling trees and will take orders for trees of all sizes, including little ones--He says they cut off the top of a big tree to make the little ones, then reshape the rest of the tree and sell it as a full sized tree.
