Slim's Diner closes for good on Sunday, no word on replacement

Bad news for breakfast fans, Slim's Diner will be closing on Sunday. The spot, which faced some issues with service when it opened, has been losing money over the past two years, according to owner Paul Ruppert in an email to Petworth News.

Both DCist and Petworth News report that Ruppert, who also opened Room 11, Petworth Citizen, Upshur Street Books, Crane & Turtle and other spots in the area, will be considering what will go in the space, maybe something else from him or maybe something opened by another business (similar to how Crane & Turtle replaced Himitsu.) This is the third closure recently on Upshur Street, though Petworth News argues it's not a trend.

What would you like to see go into this space?
