Chick-fil-A will open November 4 in DCUSA!

Chicken alert: Chick-fil-A in the DCUSA shopping center will open November 4th, according to the Washington Business Journal. It's the first non-college location in the city and they are also thinking of opening other stores around town.

The store is run by a local franchisee, Jessie Chesson, according to the article. The address is 3100 14th Street, in the space that used to be Lime Fresh Mex.

I'm a fan of the chain's food (big time) but not a fan of the previously reported opposition to gay marriage. A few months ago I suggested some places to donate or volunteer if you feel the same way but still like to eat delicious chicken sandwiches (or even if you don't intend to go there ever.)

Some argue that we should forgive Chick-fil-A anyway, and they have stopped donating to anti-gay marriage groups. What do you think? Waffle fries and chicken sandwiches, or no way?

What do I think? I leave the politics out of the decision since I'm not thinking about a restaurant or owner's personal views when I'm looking to order food. If people put so much stock into a restaurant's beliefs just because they don't match up to their own, they have that right, but others just want to get food.

There's so many fantastic local places to eat in the neighborhood, why waste money on a large unhealthy chain? Take a couple steps either direction on Park or explore 11th St. You won't be disappointed.
