ANC1A meeting this Wednesday! Bacon Funeral Home, DC Fish, Lenwood Johnson, more!

The next ANC 1A meeting is today (Wednesday) at 7 pm, and there's a lot going on: a report from public safety chair Cecilia Jones, an update on the Bacon Funeral Home, that eyesore at 3447 14th which has been sitting half-built for literally years, and an update on the DC Fish Carryout, the place busted for selling drugs.

There's also a rather strange one: ANC 1A10 commish Lenwood Johnson, whose bad behavior I have written about numerous times in the past, is moving to remove Jones from the Public Safety Committee because she's working on his opponent's campaign (whose name is Anthony Cimino.). As far as I can tell, this makes no sense, as working on a campaign has nothing to do with public safety. To me it seems like he's trying to get back at Jones. So that should be interesting.

Here's the full agenda:

  1. Why does Lenwood even care about public safety in ward one--doesn't he live in Maryland? But i suppose sticks it to the evil yuppies so he gets voted in term after term? I hope Cimino can talk common sense to the voters, because we deserve better. Regarding Bacon all I can say is FINALLY.

  2. So what happened with the Bacon funeral home update?

  3. Unreal! Did anyone go to the meeting? What happened with Lenwood's ridiculous motion?

  4. I wasn't able to go, but I was told that Lenwood withdrew his motion, which is good, although apparently there wasn't much new with Bacon. Too bad, I'll follow up on that.
