Lime Fresh Grill opening soon, now hiring & awesome happy hour

There's about to be more quick Mexican food in the neighborhood. On Sunday I walked past Lime Fresh Grill in the DCUSA shopping center and had a chance to chat with the man in charge, Dennis.

He said they're looking to open soon, though no firm date, and are working on the last of their permits and alcohol licenses. He said they hoped for Monday or Tuesday for some permits.

The spot, which is between Radio Shack and Payless, is a fast casual Mexican place with locations throughout the Southeast and serve quesadillas, tacos, burritos and fajitas -- here's the menu.

They'll also have alcohol -- Dennis confirmed they'll have Mexican beer, margaritas, and sangria. What interested me was the happy hour he mentioned -- every Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 5-7pm, they'll have $2 Mexican beer and $3 margaritas and sangria. Food will be on special then too, things like $2 tacos and the like. Pretty sweet deal, especially for booze.

The space is about 3,500 square feet, and they're also hiring -- stop by if you're interested. The place gets good reviews on Yelp -- 4 stars on 81 reviews for one in Miami and 4 stars for a new Clarendon location too.

Looks pretty good to me, and hopefully it'll lessen the ridiculous lines at Chipotle too. They're in spot 104 here.

Can't wait! So tired with the options in the neighborhood (yeah, I eat too much takeout) but Cava is a nice change.
