Still very little progress at Z-Burger

Z-Burger? More like Zero-Burger.

It's been a long time since we first heard about Z-Burger. They were supposed to open this past summer, but nothing happened. And a few months ago I went by and there had been no progress.

Unfortunately, that's still the case. I went by this weekend and looked in the window -- they laid down some flooring and there was a small counter in the corner, but that appeared to be it, it was still pretty disheveled. There was a permit from August on the window.

I've tried getting in touch with them but to no avail. It's pretty strange, why sit there paying rent on an empty space? Is it that difficult to do construction? Are there permit problems or delays?

I don't get why this seems to happen so frequently in the area.

They could at least take down the "Coming Summer 2011" signs...

Or they could wait and paste a "2" over that last "1". Or perhaps a "3"

Why does it seem so hard for businesses to open up? If the issue is with permitesetc, we must do something to push authorities to facilitate these processes. Good businesses are essential to continue the development of our neighborhood. One or 2 upscale restaurants and stores would not hurt either... Having mostly or only restaurant chains and cheap stores is not that great if we want the neighborhood value to increase.

I heard power tools when I walked by this afternoon. a neighboring business opined they were coming in February.

Personally, I'll believe it when I eat it!
