It's looking like a nice weekend, so get out and take a walk! This weekend is WalkingTownDC, which offers over a hundred guided walking and bike tours for free.
The Columbia Heights Heritage Trail tour is on Sunday from 1 to 3 -- I took the tour with a guide a couple of months ago and it was fascinating -- lots of interesting things to learn about the neighborhood -- the Marriott company was started in the neighborhood, there was a horse racing track on Holmead Place, the Tivoli Theater showed the first talking movies in DC, and more.
There are a lot more tours too, including one around Howard University.
