ANSWER posters coming down in a timely fashion?

A reader let me know that they got in touch with the folks at the ANSWER Coalition about their posters, which are often up months after an event happens. They assured him that the signs would be down within 30 days of the event.

The ANSWER posters are one of my pet peeves. We'll see if they follow through!

  1. Since they didn't care about violating the law when putting them up, I'd be shocked if they started caring now...

  2. really? this is worth writing about in your 'neighborhood blog'?

  3. Since these posters are plastered throughout the neighborhood and have essentially become as permanent as any building in Columbia Heights, yes, it is worth writing about in the neighborhood blog.

  4. This wins the dumbest blog entry of the month award. Why on earth would you care about these posters so much? Especially if you agree with them (not assuming you are against the wars)... I think it is refreshing to have something of substance up in the neighborhood, more than just a commercial ad, a politician's sign or an ugly metal box.

  5. It's not the substance, it's the fact that these posters are everywhere in the neighborhood and sometimes up for literally years after the event happened. If you're going to blanket the neighborhood to advertise something, at least have the decency to take your posters down after the event.
