Unicyclist in the neighborhood?

This is random -- the other day my friend said they saw a unicyclist going down 13th Street and that they've seen this before. Mopeds, scooters, and bikes I've seen, but unicycle, not so much. Plus that hill starting at 13th and Clifton would be pretty tough on one wheel.

Is this at all newsworthy? Did you give any pause to posting this - maybe you meant to write it on Twitter, it's of that caliber - when so many more interesting things happen in Columbia Heights everyday? I find it sad that when I want to read about the goings-on in my neighborhood, I choose other regional blogs over the one that bears my neighborhood's name because its coverage is so lacking. And I wish I could say this was an isolated incident, but it is not. One need only look at your series on discarded bottles of hooch as proof that drivel frequently finds its way onto your site. Your blog is also riddled with mistakes that it adversly affects your credibility. You recently stated that Oscar Fuentes lived on the 1300 block of Columbia Rd. How can your readers put in trust in your reporting when you can't even correctly place the crime scene of one of the most grizzly murders in CH history? I would suggest that you strongly consider renaming your blog and strip it of its official CH blog status or hand the reigns over to someone that will a. post regularly and b. report on news that interests the entire columbia heights community not just his/her friends. Do your neighbors a favor, step aside so there can be new New Columbia Heights.

I write about things that I find interesting and that I think other people might find interesting. I make mistakes occasionally, like being a block off in that example.

you know what the great thing about teh interwebs is, anonymous? there are literally thousands of other websites that would probably give you the information you want if you would bother looking. no one is forcing you to be here or read this, so take your lameness and negativity somewhere else.

Sounds like someone pissed in Anonymous #1's cornflakes today.

Andrew, I didn't even know you were the "official CH blog". Where do you go to register for that? Do they have a list of the official blog (if any) for each neighborhood? I'd like to know whether it's SWDCBlog or Southwest... the Little Quadrant that Could that's been operating without a license.

Holy puddle of tiger shit... that "Anonymous" dude needs to get a life. In the amount of time it took him/her to type out that bitchy rant, he/she could have started his/her own blog, written a book about complaining about blogs, and gone down the street to host a motherfucking tea party on the street corner for the homeless.

Anony-turd,

Really? "Newsworthy?" "Caliber?" It's a blog, not flippin' CNN.

Hang on a second. Everyone's missing Anonymous' most important point.

There's been a "grizzly" murder in the neighborhood?!?

If New Columbia Heights has failed at all, it's obviously in neglecting to alert us to this rising Ursidae menace!!
