Just saw this on Twitter, there was an astronaut at the Columbia Heights Education Campus today speaking to kids: Jose Hernandez, who was on the most recent Space Shuttle trip to the International Space Station. Pretty cool, hope the kids enjoyed it.

Wow! So cool! Great for the kids... any idea why he came? Is he from the area?
I think he was in town doing some speeches and going to the Hill -- something about that was on his twitter.
I have an astronaut in my pants... Its got a great helmet
