Crummy AT&T and iPhone service in the neighborhood?

I just switched to an iPhone and have had problems with service in the area lately -- it seems like I always lose service on 14th from about Clifton to W Street, and sometimes in my house. Anybody else have issues with their AT&T or iPhone service?

This is why I won't have AT&T; their service is notoriously poor in dense areas. BY FAR not the first complaint like this I've heard.

I've noticed that it's been particularly bad for the last week or so. Maybe a temporary issue.

Major problems with in and out service on the 1200 block of 13th Street where I live. That's Logan Circle. I usually cannot get service in my bedroom when I could before.

I warned you - AT&T sucks here. Service usually comes back for me pretty quickly, but I have problems now that I never had with Sprint.

They can't go with Verizon without completely gutting the iPhone, which uses GSM, since Verizon's networks are all CDMA.

I get spotty iPhone coverage in the 3300 block of 14th Street where I work, which seemingly has to do with network traffic.

Its why I went for the Palm Pre instead of the iPhone. All the apps in the world can't make up for the fact you can't get a signal.

Yes, we've had that issue since we moved here in May -- Randolph St. We always have service, but the connection is choppy. Makes it hard to work from home when you use your cell phone all the time!

It most likely is a bad phone. I have lived in 3 areas of Columbia Heights and have an iPhone and have incredible reception and NEVER had ad dropped call.

I had a problem with my fist iPhone and Apple replaced it right away. No problems with new one.

The rumor of Verizon getting the iPhone is completely wrong. Apple has stated that they will not build a phone for a proprietary network like Verizon and Sprint. CDMA is a doomed technology since it cannot do simultaneous voice and data (meaning it cannot check email or access and Internet app while on the phone). Verizon is ditching CDMA for a technology called LTE which every carrier in the world will support. So their is a possibility that they may have iPhones on the LTE network once buildout is complete in 2012. I repeat 2012. So no iPhone on Verizon until there is a compatible network (2012).

Verizon also has gone on the offensive against Apple. Most experts agree: no Iphone on Verizon until 2012.

But like I said, I have absolutely no problems with my iPhone in D.C. At&t coverage is very good here.

My service SUCKS in C Heights. I lose it in WSC and in Giant. Does anyone lose service in Giant?
