16th Street walking tours

16th Street Walking Tours: Avenue of the Presidents

Stroll through 200 years of history along the stately street that gives the White House its address. Prestigious 16th Street is home to the Scottish Rite Temple, Gilded Age mansions, embassies, peculiar statuary, churches , and the cascading fountains of Meridian Hill Park/Malcolm X Park. Hear stories of the colorful characters that have resided here, told by professional tour guide and DC native Nathan Harrington.

Meet in front of the Australian Embassy at Scott Circle, where Rhode Island and Massachusetts Avenues cross 16th Street NW. The nearest Metro stations are Dupont Circle or McPherson Square.

The tour ends at the Columbia Heights Metro near great restaurants. Please bring water and comfortable shoes.
