Kids and parents deal at Commonwealth

Just saw this on the Columbia Heights listserve. Not bad.
Commonwealth has announced a Stroller Special for Lunch. Kids under 6 eat a free special lunch between 11:30 am and 4 pm Monday through Friday, and the parents enjoy a free half pint! A family can't beat that deal!!

  1. Those guys are struggling. I hope they can throw out whatever special is necessary to bring in more business. Just to stop by and get a couple beers helps a neighborhood restaurant.

  3. I pretty much live at the Wealth, and they really aren't struggling at all, but lunch is pretty dead there. As far as I can tell, they are simply tweaking things.

  4. I haven't been. No way am I wasting my hard earned cash on expensive "hot at the moment" food. And beer that is more than $5??? Hells NO!

  5. I guess Highland Park should have put in a McDs and a bar that sells beer for $.50. That'll bring some class and culture to the neighborhood.

  6. Forgive some of us for saving and investing our money. You can have a good evening out at a reasonably priced restuarant like Ruby Tuesday. Who cares about paying a premium for decor and atmosphere? What really matters is the company your with.

Any I have plenty of class. Just because I choose to spend/or not spend my money doesn't mean I lack class. I cook at home for the most part and will eat out one night a week. I just choose to keep my money rather then wasting it on crap. Jus remember, it all comes out the same regardless of where it came from.

  7. I'm not one of those singles who sneers at parents and strollers in city restaurants. But free beer because you've chosen to have kids and bring them to a restaurant for lunch? Yuck. I'm gay, I can't have kids the usual way, and I'd like my fellow childless Heights neighbors -- straight or gay -- to get the same deal.
